YOU JUST GO BOATING - WE TAKE CARE OF THE REST!
TELL ME MORE!
You could purchase a used boat, but would you rather spend your time on the water or invest endless days fixing the aging systems on an older boat?
You could purchase a new boat privately, but do you have time to manage and maintain it, or do you just want to go boating?
You could charter, but don’t you want to be on the water more than once or twice per year?
WHAT IS THE VALUE OF YOUR TIME?
There's a better way to own a boat
SailTime & PowerTime is a fractional boat management and membership program, part of the sharing economy.
The SailTime & PowerTime model provides its clients with exclusive access to a specific boat for a full season. There is one owner and only six to eight highly competent members per specific boat.
As an owner, this model ensures that your boat is meticulously cared for and maintained to the highest standards.

LEARN MORE ABOUT OWNERSHIP
We don’t bait you with higher potential income and leave you to pay the costs yourself. We pay the dockage, insurance, and maintenance before any revenue is dispersed.
Our ownership program offers one of the highest revenue yields available, while keeping ownership hassle free, coupled with the most comprehensive approach for optimal care of your vessel.
Only a few highly qualified members (typically a max of six) use each boat. All members are trained and must to pass a rigorous check out before using the boat without a captain.
Each member’s regular access keeps them familiar and qualified to ensure proper operation and care. Your boat is checked frequently by our staff, with maintenance tasks handled on a regular basis.
Having the boat close to where you work or live gives you easier, more frequent access to your vessel vs. other charter programs at remote locations that require additional travel costs and time.
Go boating with friends, family, or co-workers after work or on the weekends on a regular basis, with as much or as little notice as possible.
SailTime and PowerTime boats are well optioned. We don’t require that boats have limited options or options more tailored towards charter. As an owner, you pick the options you want, making your vessel more attractable to buyers when you sell it.
Further, the maintenance we perform is typically more than most private owners perform, which also helps resale value.
Rather than a turn-and-burn style of maintenance, which is common with charter boats, rest assured that your boat will be in pristine condition.
Our professional management is the best, as we use the same professional, certified service technicians who commission our new boats to private owners. Your boat is thoroughly checked and maintained on a regular basis and not just when issues arise.
We only allow a certain number of boats into the ownership program each season, so we encourage you to plan ahead to ensure availability.
We will evaluate the best choice boat for your needs and lifestyle and immediately begin the process to market your boat for prospective members. This ensures the best financial model for when your boat is delivered and ready for the program.
Just one: You would be the only owner. The boat is shared by the owner and a limited number of non-equity Members who join the program for a 12-month term.
Frequently Asked Questions
This will vary by the size and type of boat that you select. The regular income you will receive is determined by the terms of your specific boat choice and the regional requirements of the base location that you choose.
The base will manage the boat for three years initially, with two renewable one-year options. This allows you to have the boat managed within the program for a total of five years, if desired.
Yes, if you provide a notice to the base nine months prior to when you want to take the boat out of the program.
SailTime / PowerTime.
You will have no monthly membership costs, however, powerboat memberships will be required to pay a fuel charge (based on the actual metered fuel usage during an outing). This covers the raw cost of fuel and engine servicing.
All of our boats are very well specified with upgraded options such as a chartplotter, autopilot, air conditioner/heater, electric windlass and other features that make boating convenient and enjoyable. Some boats include quick docking systems and bow thrusters, roller-furling sail systems and additional features to
make the boat easy to operate.
SailTime / PowerTime's Equitable Sharing Program has been established to provide equal access and guaranteed reservations for members of the boat. As a member, you will receive guaranteed access, plus an unlimited number of “bonus times” (within 36-hour openings). Some bases provide additional access if there are SailTime / PowerTime Membership openings on the boat.
The minimum amount required as a down payment is 20% of the purchase price. Many owners opt to put down a larger percentage to increase the equity in the vessel.
SailTime / PowerTime has partnered with Shore Premier Finance to offer Marine Financing to assist with your purchase. You may also work with one of your own financial sources if you prefer.
Yes! Many bases frequently hold social gatherings so that Members can meet. We find this increases the care Members provide for the boat and it also promotes respect for the other Members. Plus, it’s fun!
We require each member to sign an agreement with provisions outlining the terms and expectations of boat usage and respectful upkeep. New Members also participate in extensive training as well as a Check Out/Orientation to ensure safe and proper use of your boat.
Residual values will always vary with the marketplace. SailTime / PowerTime chooses manufacturers that we feel will have better-than-average residuals. Boats that are used by our Members are optimized and better maintained, and therefore tend to hold higher resale values.
You may take your boat for personal use, upgrade to a new boat and re-enter the program, or sell your boat privately.
