GREAT HUDSON SAILING ANNOUNCES NAME CHANGE AFTER 45 YEARS, REFLECTING ITS EVOLUTION TO A MULTIFACETED YACHTING BUSINESS

Great Hudson Sailing is Now Operating as Vital Force Yachting

January 26, 2022 – New York, NY – Using The New York Boat Show as the forum for its name change and new brand launch, Great Hudson Sailing – a regional yachting company with a 45-year heritage – today announced it will henceforth operate as Vital Force Yachting, reflecting the company’s multifaceted evolution.

The company is one of the oldest U.S.-based dealerships for BENETEAU, one of the largest sailboat and powerboat manufacturers in the world, based in France.

With headquarters just north of NYC in Haverstraw, New York and a sea trial base in NY Harbor, the company was born in 1978 as “Great Hudson Sailing Center” and became one of the first U.S. BENETEAU dealers in 1986, growing into one of BENETEAU’s most reputable and longstanding dealers in the country.

In 2015, the company acquired the New York and New Jersey SailTime franchise, which is based in Jersey City, New Jersey. This fractional member/owner program is designed to help make yacht ownership more affordable and convenient for yacht owners, while making regular boating more accessible to aspiring boaters.

In 2018, the company evolved beyond strictly sailboats to represent the BENETEAU outboard powerboat range. 2022 has now seen the launch of its PowerTime base in NY Harbor, adding powerboats to its fast-growing fleet, with plans for further geographic expansion in the near future.

Troyano continued, “Hence, our new name and positioning is that yachting – and the feeling of freedom on the water – gives life a sense of vitality, energy and strength that cannot be found on land…it is a vital force. Whether our customers prefer monohulls or multihulls, power or sail, we are now perfectly-positioned to help them discover and embrace their vital force, while offering the same level of trust and service our previous sailboat clients have always had.
